A place to communicate, connect and grow.
Created to feel warm, calm and human from the moment you walk through the door. Our Garden begins with Speech Sense Speech Pathology, led by Anne Butcher, a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with more than 25 years of experience.
Therapy should feel like more than another appointment.
Whether you are worried about your child's speech, wondering why school is feeling harder than it should, looking for help with language or literacy, or simply unsure what support your child needs, you do not have to work it out alone.
Here, therapy is personal. We take time to understand the person behind the referral, their strengths, their challenges, what matters to them and the places where communication needs to work in real life.
That might mean helping a preschooler become easier to understand, supporting a child who is struggling to follow language or express ideas, building the foundations for reading and spelling, helping a teenager communicate with greater confidence, exploring AAC, or simply giving a parent clearer answers about what is happening and what to do next.
Whatever brings you through our door, we start by listening.

Individualised support, with room to grow.

The Therapy Garden is a boutique allied-health space built around connection, collaboration and individualised care. Speech pathology through Speech Sense Speech Pathology is the first service taking root in our Garden.
As we grow, we hope to welcome independent professionals from areas such as occupational therapy, psychology, physiotherapy, dietetics, counselling and other complementary supports.
Starting with speech pathology. Growing into something more.
Our current speech pathology services are shaped around each person's strengths, communication needs, everyday life and goals. Support may include early communication and language development, speech sounds, literacy, fluency, AAC, parent and carer coaching, education support and communication technology.
As The Therapy Garden grows, additional supports will be introduced through appropriately qualified practitioners within the collective.
Support that meets you where you are and grows with you.
Speech Sense Speech Pathology provides assessment of speech, language, literacy, fluency, social communication, AAC and functional communication within speech pathology scope. Speech pathology findings may also contribute to broader assessment when autism or Specific Learning Disorder is being considered.
We do not currently provide stand-alone autism, ADHD, cognitive or Specific Learning Disorder diagnoses. As The Therapy Garden grows, we hope to develop collaborative assessment pathways with appropriately qualified professionals where these would benefit the client.
The right assessment starts with asking the right questions.
Small, thoughtfully matched speech pathology groups may be offered for preschoolers, school-aged children, teenagers and young adults during school terms or as holiday programs.

The first service taking root in our Garden.
Speech Sense Speech Pathology is Anne's established speech pathology business, operating from within The Therapy Garden. Anne is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia, with more than 25 years of experience across private practice, hospitals, rehabilitation, schools, disability services, community settings and telehealth.
Her approach is warm, practical and collaborative. Support starts by understanding the person, not by fitting them into a program. Families should leave appointments understanding what has been noticed, why it matters and what they can realistically do next.

Support across ages and stages, for the places where life actually happens.
Speech Sense supports young children, school-aged children, teenagers and young people, as well as adults whose communication needs fall within our current areas of practice. With consent, we may collaborate with parents and carers, educators, schools, support coordinators, plan managers, GPs, paediatricians and other professionals.
Our aim is simple: understand what matters, identify where support can make a difference and create a practical pathway forward.
