Clear information before you begin
The Therapy Garden is a collective of independent practitioners. Each practitioner sets and manages their own fees, funding arrangements, cancellation terms and payment requirements.

Fees for Speech Sense Speech Pathology apply only to Speech Sense services. We explain the recommended service and expected costs before proceeding.
Private health insurance, Medicare or NDIS funding may apply depending on individual eligibility and arrangements.
Medicare Rebates
Some clients may be eligible for a Medicare rebate towards the cost of speech pathology. Medicare generally covers only part of the cost of private speech pathology, so an out-of-pocket gap may apply. Your GP, paediatrician or other eligible medical practitioner can advise whether you or your child may qualify.
M10 - Assessment
MBS Item 82005For eligible people under 25, Medicare may support speech pathology assessment when a complex neurodevelopmental condition or eligible disability is being investigated, or when assessment contributes to an appropriate treatment and management plan.
M10 - Treatment
MBS Item 82020Eligible people under 25 may also access Medicare-supported speech pathology treatment following diagnosis and development of an appropriate treatment and management plan. Referral and Medicare requirements apply.
GP Chronic Condition Management
MBS Item 10970Children and adults with an eligible chronic condition and complex care needs may be able to access Medicare-supported speech pathology through a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan. Services are subject to current Medicare requirements.
Other Medicare Pathways
Other Medicare items may apply in some circumstances, including eligible telehealth services, multidisciplinary case conferences and specific Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health pathways. Medicare item numbers, eligibility requirements and rebates can change; please refer to Medicare or your referring medical practitioner for current information.

We would rather talk it through than have you guess at what a plan or a referral covers.
At launch, enquiries are by phone or email rather than an online form. Please keep initial emails brief and do not send detailed medical histories, clinical reports, identity documents or urgent information unless requested through an appropriate secure process.
